High School Ceramics Teacher

August 2023 to Present

I currently teach high school ceramics to 180+ students each semester over six class periods. My classes range from introduction techniques to advanced wheel throwing. I manage the studio primarily solo with occasional help from trusted students. I have taught over 600 students as off May 2025. 

Candle Holder Workshop

February 15, 2020

In my home in Gilbert, Arizona, I taught a three hour workshop to six eager students. I guided them through creating a pinch pot from wet clay and carving their own candle holder from a pre-thrown vase. I answered questions about pottery, the process of creating ceramics, and best practices for balancing mental health.

High School Pottery Demonstration

February 6, 2019

After graduating from Higley High School in 2016, I was invited to return to my old ceramics teacher’s class. I demonstrated throwing on the potter’s wheel to four high school classes, totaling 120+ students. I shared my story, answered questions about my college experience, and demonstrated throwing two pieces on the potter’s wheel for each class.

November 5, 2020

At the non-profit Idaho Art Lab in Saint Anthony, Idaho, I taught a wheel throwing class to members of our geriatric community. I successfully taught them all the steps to create a flower pot on the potter’s wheel.
